I was going to contact a company that makes these sorts of tags in the morning, but does anyone have any ideas or experience in this area? I would ideally like to restore the tag, although the raw aluminum look is not too bad.Inland Products is a manufacturer of high quality tags, metal labels, nameplates, and signs. The etched area is slightly lower than the lettering, but we have to be talking 10th's. I can't imaging attempting to restore this by painting with a tiny brush. The raised part can clearly be seen compared to the etched background where the paint was.ĭoes anyone have any idea how these metal tags are produced and how the paint is applied to the etched areas, without covering the non-etched surfaces? The tiny writing "such as Made in U.S.A." is super small. ![]() The label appears to be aluminum and etched. so I sprayed chemtool and wiped what was left of the paint off the label. We are using B-12 chemtool on a foil label and some of it drips down and eats off the paint on my perfect condition Serial number tag (this is the tag riveted to the column, with the "8520" and serial number stamped into it. So the other night, my friend and I are cleaning up the mill. here's the latest issue on my clausing 8520 mill restoration. ![]()
